Purpose
Introduces uppercut as a counter after the opponent falls in.
Setup
- Pair boxers as A and B
- Start at technical pace, complete the sequence, reset, then swap roles
Run it
- A throws right hand and steps in
- B slips/rolls left, frames or catches, returns left uppercut, then hook
- Reset, check shape, then repeat
Coach checks
Use control. Uppercut is short and vertical. Check the purpose: introduces uppercut as a counter after the opponent falls in.
Scale it
Move to coach-spar before live gloves.
Common faults
- Rushing the drill
- overreaching
- standing still after punching
- or trying to win the drill instead of learning the skill
Amateur relevance
Clean visible contact, immediate answer after defence, and a composed exit help the boxer look in control.
Use it
Use only after the base movement is reliable. Add choice, rhythm breaks or round pressure carefully.
