Purpose

Builds response volume after being attacked.

Setup

  • Coach presents targets and controls rhythm
  • Boxer starts balanced, completes the sequence, then returns to guard

Run it

  1. Coach feeds four light pad touches
  2. Boxer blocks/slips then returns six clean shots and exits
  3. Reset, check shape, then repeat

Coach checks

  • Do not trade lazily. Defend first
  • answer bigger. Check the purpose: builds response volume after being attacked

Scale it

Vary six-shot finish.

Common faults

  • Coach overfeeding
  • boxer punching too hard
  • wide hooks
  • dropping hands after combinations

Amateur relevance

Pad work should transfer into clean scoring, fast responses and visible control in amateur bouts.

Use it

Use only after the base movement is reliable. Add choice, rhythm breaks or round pressure carefully.
