Purpose

Practises starting a round clearly.

Setup

  • Coach presents targets and controls rhythm
  • Boxer starts balanced, completes the sequence, then returns to guard

Run it

  1. At bell, boxer fires double jab, 1-2, exits, re-enters with jab
  2. Repeat every minute
  3. Reset, check shape, then repeat

Coach checks

Look sharp early. Do not sprint blindly. Check the purpose: practises starting a round clearly.

Scale it

Add feint before second entry.

Common faults

  • Coach overfeeding
  • boxer punching too hard
  • wide hooks
  • dropping hands after combinations

Amateur relevance

Pad work should transfer into clean scoring, fast responses and visible control in amateur bouts.

Use it

Run at rhythm pace first, then add one layer: speed, movement, counter, exit or coach call.
